The Library’s Winter Adult Reading Month challenges you to read three books during the month of February. Everyone who completes the program will get entered into a drawing for a Samsung tablet, bookstore gift certificates, and gift certificates to the New Pioneer Coop.

Kickoff with cookies and cocoa is Thursday, January 25, 2017 from 10 am—2 pm and 4—6 pm. Participants will get a reading log to fill out. Logs must be turned in by February 28 to be eligible for the prize drawing.

This year we will also be encouraging readers to participate in the Reading Without Walls challenge. Started by Gene Luen Yang, the National Ambassador for Children's Literature, Reading Without Walls challenges you to read without walls in one of three ways:

1. Read a book about a character who doesn’t look like you or live like you.

2. Read a book about a topic you don’t know much about.

3. Read a book in a format that you don’t normally read for fun such as a graphic novel or a novel in verse.

Everyone who reads a fourth book completing the Reading Without Walls challenge will be entered into a drawing for tickets to a production at the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts.
