“You use that word. Since when has there been an age limit on word usage?”

“I am older than you.”

“By five months.”

“I am still older than you,” Megan hastily snapped.

“Well, if it isn’t okay for me to use the word, it certainly isn’t okay for you to use the word,” I snapped back.

“You know you always say that,” Megan smiled.

“And you always try to turn every conversation into how you’re five months older than me,” I replied.

“Well, I am.”

We both smiled.

“Katy, do you want to go now?” Sara asked.

“Sure.” I had forgotten the fact that I would get to ride next. Megan smiled her fiendish smile. I had the vague feeling I had been tricked out of my fear by Megan’s well- placed topic change.
