“Um, I guess so,” said Greg not quite sure why the kitty would be hiding from its owner. The new customer continued,

“Yeah, uh, you may have heard of my kitty in the papers last week. It was a front page article.” Greg scanned the front page of a nearby paper looking for an article about a famous (possibly prize-winning) cat, but found only an article about a New York gangster. “Now, a little bird tells me that my kitty is hiding in Heartsford. So I want you to go on down to Heartsford and find my kitty, and, you know, take care of it, you know what I mean.”

“Sure that’s no problem,” Greg responded. He loved pets and would be perfectly happy to take care of it and give it a home, feed it etc.

“Excellent. Ok, you wanna get paid right? O’ course you get paid. Why wouldn’t you wanna get paid? Now here’s how you get paid: once you’ve done the thing, you know, the thing you gotta do, go to the telephone booth outside your apartment and call 854-0702, then tell them ‘never sleep with the fish on Saturday night’ and the money will get wired to your account.”
