| Submitting Creative Work to The
Leaky Pen The Leaky Pen is a publication of
the Coralville Public Library's Teen Writer's Workshop based in
Coralville, Iowa. Currently, the Workshop meets every third Thursday
of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the Coralville Public Library, 1401 5th
Street. Local teens are welcome to join the Workshop at any time.
The Leaky Pen also accepts creative work from teens living
in the Coralville/Iowa City/ Johnson County area. Guidelines for
submissions are as follows:
- The editors will accept written work in plain text format or
Microsoft Word. Submissions will be read but not edited
for grammar or spelling. We highly recommend the use of spelling and
grammar check software.
- The editors encourage the submission of digital artwork. Artwork
will be displayed in .jpg or .gif formats.
- Short (no longer than 3 minutes) movies in Microsoft .wmv format
will be accepted.
- Although we will do our best to display all work submitted, the
editors do not guarantee the posting of all work. All work should
be submitted by email to Karen Stierler at
kstierler@coralville.lib.ia.us or dropped off at the
library on floppy, CD or DVD. Floppy, CD and DVD copies of work
will not be returned to the artist. Work may be created and copies
may be made at the Library's public computer workstations. Include
your full name and email or phone number with your submission(s);
the editors will use your first name only on creative
work unless you specify a pen name.
- We (the editors) are assuming that the work you submit is
original and has not been submitted to other publications that may
have copyright over the material.
