Quotes from Acatalepteron
Quotations are truly wonderful things. There are quotes to fit nearly
every situation, and they nearly always say things much better than
you could have, (that's how they become quotes). It always saddens me
to here people arguing and debating in a weak, feeble manner. Just
think how much more convincing you would be if you just spiced up your
conversation with a few quotes. Also, most of these quotes have not
been used very much, therefore, they are not yet clichés.
To help you out in your verbal endeavor I have provided three of my
favorite quotes. Have fun, and remember, use them wisely, a well
placed quote is a powerful thing. |

- “A good artist borrows, a great artist steals.” - Pablo Picasso
This extremely powerful quote is mostly useful as a justification.
After all, how many of us haven't wanted a good excuse to
plagiarize. People may complain when you steal their ideas, but hey,
you can't argue with Picasso.
Sample Use: TEACHER: “This is a photocopy of someone else's
homework.”
YOU: “A good artist borrows, a great artist steals.”
- “A general who has never lost is a general who has not fought
many battles.” - George Washington
This quote has a bit more wisdom to it than the first one, and can
be used both to cheer up some one who has made a mistake, and to
defend yourself. George Washington said it to Nathanial Green just
after Green lost an important battle. Just make sure not to over use
it.
Sample Use: YOUR FRIEND: “I just hit a car and caused $87,000 worth
of damage, not to mention grievous injury.”
YOU: “A general who has never lost is a general who has not fought
many battles.”
- “I hate quotes, just tell me what you know.” - Ralph Waldo
Emerson
This one speaks for itself.
Sample Use: YOUR FRIEND: “I just learned all these great quotes from
this awesome web page, I am now much more intelligent than you.”
YOU: “I hate quotes, just tell me what you know.”
