“So you’re saying that those 4 sightings of people eating orange stringy things didn’t excite your curiosity? Or what about that man speaking in a language that no one in the language department could interpret? Did that interest you at all?” Shel asked angrily.

“I’m sorry. We’ve done plenty of research on life on other planets and found that there is just no way that it could exist. Now I have more important things to do right now but if you’d like I could put you on with someone who you could continue this argument with.” Shel sighed.

“No, I’ll just go.”

“Alright, bye.”

“Urgh! You people!” Shel exclaimed hanging up the phone. He had been talking to the governor of Iowa, Iowa was a little out of the way state, but all the same, it would be very nice if even this little state would believe that he was from Cuña. He had already tried 4 other governors that week and none of them would believe him either. Looking at it from earth’s point of view, it was understandable, but it was still frustrating. Almost all of the other planets that Cuña had contacted had believed them either, because they had already done some research on life on other planets or because the proof that the Cuñans gave them was completely reasonable. But the people on earth were just so stubborn.

Shel was the leader of the planet Cuña – Cuña was a very small planet, about the size of America – so usually he had other people make calls like that for him but his secretaries had failed the last 4 times and he had decided to try it him self. Now Shel was a very reasonable man and the greater part of the people on Cuña adored him but there were some people that just got under his skin. One of those people was his secretary who had been making these calls for him and so when she failed; it irritated him more than it would, had it been someone else making the calls.
