The Friend I Thought I Had by Mae

I trusted you with all my heart
I told you everything
but in these past few weeks
you've been a memory to me.

The friend ship we used to have
is now long since gone

I trusted you...
you didn't care
you just blew me off instead

Now I have to move on
Make some new friends too...
...possibly even forgive you.

One day you'll wake up and say
'Why'd I act so mean
when I had such a wonderful thing?'

You'll regret that you backstabbed me
and threw out all we'd had

I called you up
Prayed it wasn't true
but in the end all you said was 'fine'

I poured my heart out to you...
you just dumped it down the drain
pretended it wasn't real

You tried to convince me
that what you did was well and good,
it wasn't
I told you it was bad
and that it hurt so deep down inside
I was almost mad.

I cried that night
for I knew that I'd miss you

You really weren't all that great
(especially towards the end)

I guess High School got to you
you fought for control of all of us
but yet you said we acted like we were five
when you were the one who sunk this ship
and left all of us to die,
but I got up
Set you straight
Told you you weren't God
you didn't like that much
so you got mad.

Now you're the friend I used to have.
