Leaky Pen: Poetry

Don’t Supersize by Erik

There’s a place far away,
where people don’t say,
“An apple a day,
keeps the doctor away.”

In this place far away,
they all shout “Hooray!”
When they don’t have to pay,
to get into buffets.

They eat ‘till they’re full,
then they’ll eat some more.
They’ll eat until
they can’t fit through doors.

They eat away at a greasy fish fillet,
sorbet, souffle,
and Milky Ways.

How ‘bout Twinkies
or some Ho-Ho’s?
Wait a minute,
they can’t see their toes!

Their stomachs stretch
‘till they almost burst.
Now they need to quench their thirst.

Gallons and gallons
of soda pop.
A Big Gulp?
Why not?

The reason that they,
in this place far away,
don’t say “An apple a day,
keeps the doctor away,”

Is that they don’t eat apples,
instead they eat fries.
The moral of this story is...
Don’t Supersize.
