In 1945, a German bomber crash-lands in Iceland during a blizzard. Puzzlingly, there are both German and American officers on board. In present day Iceland Kristin's brother stumbles upon the US government excavating the crash site, and disappears soon after. Kristin is determined to discover the secret of Operation Napoleon and the fate of her brother, no matter what it takes.
